Chilled Sunday...not...
10 Answers
How's everyone's Sunday been?
Was looking forward to a nice chilled day then:
One of the cats did a misjudged flying leap and landed in a bin of rainwater, jumped out and in the house and started shaking the water out - dnot that I minded, just glad she was ok - finished drying her off and mopping up to find another cat tucking into my breakfast I'd abandoned.
Heard my washing machine delivery (old one died) has been delayed until tomorrow as delivery people screwed up so been trying to get some stuff washed for work tomorrow.
Discovered my bathroom ceiling was leaking and now have a quarter ceiling hole in it after it collapsed it - leak in the roof apparently! Had to do an emergency dash to the neighbour who were brilliant. As a result I missed cheering on and getting photos for my friends in a local Urbanathlon they were doing.
Cleared up and was rescued by friends and went for a low fat as I could Sunday lunch which has set my stupid gallstones off.
Managed to extract a curious cat from the loft after she jumped up through the hole while I was doing a check then couldn't/wouldn't get back down for ages and now have the battlescars to prove it. Bathroom now secured!
Oh and the wind has reeked some havoc in the garden!
Having a quiet sit down and praying nothing else goes wrong today...argh! So much for trying to take it easy!
Hope everyone else has had a much better day! Sorry for the whinge, just in need of letting off some steam!

Our shutters broke at some point last night, so we couldn't open then, so therefore couldn't open at 7 as usual (why anyone would get up at that time for a newspaper on a Sunday voluntarily is beyond me!). It finally opened at 8.30 and my God did the customers whine about it all day. All I heard all day was "you were shut this morning!!", you'd think their world had caved in.

lol, aye, a bit ummmm.
wouldn't mind, but we stuck a note on shutters saying why we were closed ,and the dumb gits still rattled em and tried to peer in to see if there were signs of life inside.
Still, it beats Jenna's day- just about. Least I got to laugh at their little crestfallen faces as they shuffled off all dejectedly without their morning papers- it's the little things in life...

Oh Jenna, what a day! Cats and water really do not mix! Max jumped into the bath while I was leaning over it to give my hair a quick wash, I put the shower head down to help him out - of course I hadn't turned off the tap! Water went everywhere, Max flew out of the bathroom with my husband in hot pursuit with a towel to dry him off, he never did catch him! Being a soggy moggy cured Max of his fascination with water though. Cats. They are into everything aren't they? Hope the rest of your day is much quieter
They drive me mad sometimes but I'd never be without them. Wondering if it's payback for them being looked after by someone else when I dared end up in hospital for a week (yeah, it's been a bad few weeks haha!).
Seriously though, I must be due some damn good good fortune sometime soon :)
So nice to just sit and chill out for a bit. TV is rubbish tonight so up to bed to read before long I think.
It always used to amaze me what people used to get het up about when I worked in Somerfield Boo! I remember one guy going off on one demanding I slice him a couple of slices of garlic sausage right before closing after I'd part closed down for the night and washed all the slicing machinery (only me on so we had to do it bit by bit in shift hours and only not a large store or in a busy area) as usual towards close, as I politely explained. He threatened to report me to head office!
