Can anyone recommend a very strong glue, the door on my daughters wardrobe feel off the other day, the little plastic plugs that the screws go into seem to have come away from the carcass pulling the door away. I need a strong glue to put them back, the door is quite heavy. Many thanks.

If I were to use a glue here, it would be the two-part epoxy type eg Araldite.
Has the hole in the carcass enlarged over time ? Just wondered if the solution would be to plug the hole with a wood filler or something, and redrill what is needed for the plug again.
I would go for standard araldite. It takes 24 hours to go off but because of that it is much stonger. Also use the next size up plugs

Thanks or the quick replies, yes OG the hole us slightly bigger where the weight of the door pulled the plugs out. If I use the next size up plugs wil the screws on the hinges stil fit. Thanks again RR.
When mixed, Araldite is very "thick" (like stiff honey) and will "take up" any difference in hole size.

Thanks ginger.
In my experience Araldite sets to a gum like texture rather than a hard stiff one. It may well work though.

Using larger plugs wouldn't be my first choice but one can test them against the screws before fitting them.
I would get some dowel bigger than the plug, drill a hole the same size as the dowel where the plugs were, glue in the dowel, then drill the dowel the same size as the plugs, then fit the original plugs. Hope that makes sense.
OG: never come across that. It's set rock-hard when I've used it- even drilled into it.
The correct way is to glue plug it larger with woodwork or foam adhesive .. shave flat and refix to it.
Well, nobody mentioned "correct way".
Been thinking about that ginge. I'm wondering if I am recalling the unused pre-mix stuff that died out. You may be right about it after all. Just not sure any more.
OG: I've never had any problems when I've used it and I know someone whose house contents are virtually held together with it!
that dried out
