Wood Glue

My sista's front of kitchen drawer has come off leaving the little stubs poking out and holes in the drawer.

I am going to fix it but wondered if wood glue is strong enough or should I buy something stronger - thanks

I'd expect wood glue to work. Clamp it all together though while it dries.

What does she keep in that drawer? Is it full of heavy things?

She does keep heavy things but I know if I fix this for her she won't be filling it so much again.

Make sure you clean up the "little stubs" (dowels) really well and then glue back together using "Gorilla Glue" - probably your best bet if you want it to last. You can get the glue from most DIY/Hardware stores these days. Good luck.

Seeing as the front has come off , I would use wood glue but also add a couple of screws through the back panel and just long enough go into the front panel without poking through. This will give added strength so it's not being held only by the glue.

Don't have tools Vulcan for screwing nails etc. She will have to make do with the gorilla glue.

Be aware gorilla glue expands.

if you are using gorilla glue read the instructions...you have to wet the wood before putting the glue on

.. and dont wear your Sunday best when using it.. or the next thing you will be asking is, how do you remove gorilla glue. You cant.

JJ you don't screw nails you hammer them and you screw screws.
Don't you have a hammer or a screwdriver?

Assuming they are wood or MDF, wood glue should be fine. Just make sure the stubs and holes are clean and keep the two bits held together until it has set - time to set will be on the glue.

I have never heard of Gorilla glue. Is it a popular product?

American product advertised extensively. It's ok.

I have used it the past, very good for reattaching rubbing strips back onto the sides of cars.

I support the suggestion for using Gorilla Glue which, yes you need to use correctly but it is by far the best wood glue. I use only it in working on wood repairs - years ago I put together a set of chairs which had been previously repaired using the standard PVA glue (which I scraped off the parted surfaces) and the decision had been made of giving up. The chairs are still intact. But make certain you set things correctly - you won't get them apart for a second try (it sets pretty quickly).

there is stuff called cascamite that is the bees knees for wood glue but it comes as a powder and you should wear a mask when using it.
