CABLE TYPE

I am installing a new built in fan assisted single oven.
It has to be hard wired into the existing switch plate at the rear of it.
The installation manual has specified H05VV-F cable to be used ( doesn't say what thickness) The only cable I can get a hold of is 2.5mm2 H05V2V2-F (the type used for Immersion heaters). The cable on the old oven was 1.5 mm2 H05RR-F (rubber coated).
Will the immersion heater cable suit ? I know it will take the loading (2.4kw)but would value your opinion on the suitability?

I would use it .. It is to a higher (heatproof to 85deg) BS Spec. 6141.
The original specified is standard appliance cable rated to 60deg. The cores are same material. Both are flexible PVC cable.
So you are substituting with a higher spec cable with lager core size.
Happy wiring!
