Washing White Towels Again

I have been given some beautiful white Egyptian cotton towels for christmas. I know this has been asked before, but how to keep them soft and white please ?

Sprinter, I don't take foreign holidays, don't drive a gas guzzling car, have a totally insulated house, don't use chemical insecticides or weedkillers. I figure that entitles me to a tumble dryer!
