Are you likely to let us all in on the big secret, Or will the make and model of the machine remain a mystery?
Does it have a little door at the bottom on the front panel with a filter behind it, or possibly can you pull the kick panel off and reveal a filter behind that?

If there is a small box flap opening at the front bottom open it and unscrew the plug. Check inside for fluff or nick nacks stuck. It is more lightly socks or other small items stuck in the drain tube. Unplug the machine. Pull the machine out and lower the drain hose to ground level into a container. When the machine is empty get an old blanket and turn the machine onto its side or front on the ground. Look up from the bottom and you will see a thick ribbed black hose. Get a screwdriver and take off the silver ring securing the hose. Be prepared for a little water to come out. Poke about inside and I am certain you will find a sock. There should be a "ping pong" white plastic ball inside where the hose meets the pump. Check that all is clear before you reassemble. Check for leaks after you put it all back together. It's not as hard as it seems. Good luck. Pete
