If they do work I'd wear one as a hat.
Dear little waspies are Our Friends. They eat the larvae of garden pests, and will leave you alone if you provide them with a little something - jam on an old saucer, a bit of cooked meat - this they will focus on, cut up to feed their little waspy babies and train them to kill yet more garden pests.
They like a mix of sugar cheap sweet sherry and some squished fruit... put it somewhere a fair way from where you are sitting and they will take the easy option
Rowan, that works for me too, you wouldn't hear a word from me for hours.....
We had a wasp nest in the garage last year...It's the only year we haven't be bothered by wasps!
I like those electric bug zappers. They pop and crackle when midges & mosquitos go in them but it is far more dramatic when a wasp enters them. It reminds me of the scene from the film 'The Green Mile' where your man doesn't soak the sponge and as a result the inmate on the electric chair goes on fire.
