Every time i get rid of an electrical appliance that no longer works my other half insists, I keep the plug why ? all appliances come complete with plug attached and he isnt thinking of safety reasons for cutting it off before leaving it out for the dustman, we have a shed with all these plugs in it and he wont have them thrown out.It baffles me !

You just never know when you might need one Dee ;0)
It's the primeval urge to hoard things. You never know, they just might come in handy one day.
Is it only a man thing? I find myself doing that too....I think I've got enough now. :o)
Moved house last year and had to hire an extra skip for the "just in case" plugs OH had cut off defunct appliances over thirty years.
You can never have too many plugs...Screws,nails,washers,jars or bits of assorted wood.
Leave us alone!
In defence of blokes, the same question could apply to why do women feel the need to hoard loads and loads of plastic carrier bags? The kitchen drawers are filled with them, so is every nook and cranny, but they never ever seemed to get used for anything!
I used to be just the same, until I realised I had accumulated a draw full of them that I was never going to use and that I could get a new one for about 30p, so now I just save the fuses.

thanks for all the answers, yes it is a "man thing", if he goes beore me I shall bury them with him [joke] just in case they come in handy in the next life .
^ lol!! ... Guilty! Mine do get used though! Dee ... does he know how many have accumulated?
There is no substitute for the feeling of joy when you find a use for something that you have kept for 30 years.
(D97) .. plastic bags!
Just like the feeling of joy when I manage to smuggle an unused plastic carrier out of the supermarket to add to my collection bookbinder :o)
No, I'm on about plugs.
carrier bags have many uses. To line bins, but men dont line bins so you wouldnt know. To take to work with your lunch in. To put childrens wet clothes in after swimming. To take to Tesco to get green clubcard points for having your own bags. To use as piping bags with corner cut off. To stuff in the box when making a parcel etc etc.
He died before he used them Bookbinder [I told him he would] and I inherited thirty years worth of bloody plugs! JOY!
Sorry ... it was jordy noticed the bag thing! :0)
I should have thought of that Dee Sa. Still, with the whiskey, marmalade and copies of Which he took with him there wouldn`t have been room for plugs.
gness, now the torch has been passed to you! Keep the flame of hoarding burning! One day, you might be glad of those plugs!
Now the mind is buzzing with uses for thirty years worth of old plugs! A garden sculpture? Suggestions welcome.
Most plugs on modern appliances cannot be opened so pointless keeping them, anyway, I already have a large collection of plugs, they will come in useful one day!
