what paint should i use to paint my plaster fireplace ,as eggshell used previously peeling of.any ideas

Remove as much of the old paint as you can, then prime the fireplace with bond-it or similar. (ask a plasterer friend or builder about this).

I wonder if maybe priming with emulsion paint might also work, but the above definetly will.
