Washing A Puffa Jacket.

I'm a sad bachelor (but not gay), and I recently spent a small fortune on a puffa jacket. There are no washing instructions on it, a nice hologram but no washing instructions. Can I machine wash it or does it have to be dry-cleaned?
God bless you all & happy Christmas.

I suffer from cold feet and no slippers are good enough to keep my feet warm in cold snaps. I got my neighbour (a budding seamstress) to make me a pair of slippers from an old puffa jacket of mine......I've never looked back :)

You can wash them but you have to tumble dry to restore the waterproofing and to plump up the filling.
I'd do as 237SJ says, if in doubt though (as it cost a few bob) look up the manufacturer and give them a ring.

Tumble on cool with a couple of tennis balls to re-puff it if necessary :)
Ahh thanks.

(I'm hetero by the way but don't have a Youtube link).

Puffa jackets come with a variety of fillings, from feather-down to polyester, and you don't say what yours is. Each should be washed in its own way. There's loads of advice on Google for washing each individual type.
Agree it depends on the filling. If it was feather I wouldn't wash it, you can't wash a feather duvet (at least not mine you can't).
