also meant to say that the walls are white.. that sounds like a nice idea ummmm
I think beige also. Even though I have one dog now, rough collie. I did have two. and they are very hairy. But still got a beige carpet.
I have beige...or oatmeal...coloured carpet. It hides all sorts..lol
check a colour wheel for colours that compliment each other , and those that dont.
Whatever you do, don't get a blue carpet, since all blue carpets fade - sooner or later. A soft grey would look good, or lavender if you want a slightly less stark colour scheme.
Be bold---try Yellow!
First choice? beige or something similar!
grey would compliment
Sell the sofa and buy a wooden floor it will go with anything
depends on the look you are aiming for cool modern, ethic, classic, me I'd go with a soft terra cotta, and maybe have one of the walls a deep terracotta shade and use bronze and dark wood accessories but I am quite brave..

A soft warm grey maybe with lime green and turquoise glass accessories with other reflective surfaces mirrors and silver and a few large plants if the room gets a lot of sun

weecalf funny you should say that I was thinking wooden floor but keep being put of that idea by people telling me how cold it is and rowan that sounds lovely
I'd go with pale terracotta - and then have a nice middle eastern rug to pick up the blue
A soft, peachy colour with pale green and grey accessories.
