The Chinese use jasmine flowers in tea, so I doubt its poisonous.

Jasmine can be poisonous to dogs and cats but there are a lot of poisonous plants and it's easy to get a bit too worked up about them.

Famously Digitalis or foxglove is very poisonous but it's very rare for people or animals to suddenly take it into their heads to try to eat it. Rhubarb leaves are very poisonous too.

The danger usually occurs with plants that have bright attractive berries like yew trees that are poisonous or people who go out picking their own mushrooms and come back with a basket full of Destroying angels.

Here's a really good page from Cornell University on poisonous plants.

Thankfully accidental self poisoning cases involving plants are extremely rare.

I as well as foxgloves I have monks hood (Aconitum) in my garden and several others and my kids have never tried to eat them.

I don't pick my own mushrooms though!

As jake-the-peg says, there are a lot of poisonous plants out there. When I worked in a pre-school we wanted to do the garden up for the children to play in and social services sent us a huge list of plants we couldn't use, including daffodils (apparently the bulbs are poisonous).
don't listen they just hatin cuz they don't have one so keep the flower
I just bought a book by Kim Wilde entitled 'Gardening With Children' and in it she lists a number of poisenous plants.... Jasmine is NOT one of them!!
