Specifically - Jasmines make lovely container specimens. Ensure you use a container with good drainage holes. Cover the holes with a crock or too so that the compost does not wash through, and fill with John Innes No 2. Leave space at the top for watering, and place the pot in bright but filtered light.
Actually you can grow pretty much anything in a suitably size pot provided you have the pot in the right place and are prepared to give a bit of extra care.
Not too sure what a Stephanene is....do you mean Stephanotis ? In which case, they'll tolerate night temps down to 10 C so you could keep them outside during summer.
