3 years ago when i first went to Seascale to see my old school pal, I brought some large pink round stones back from the beach, they have been used as a feature in a glass vase in my fireplace ever since as they looked quite trendy, anyway, the sound on my tele kept going and I narrowed it down to a problem with the scart socket at the back of the tele. (full stop) I've used one of the flatter oval stones as a weight to wedge the scart lead into the back of the tele and now the sound has stopped dipping or going off. How innovative is that eh? Is it it an actual invention ?

Nobel would be proud of you.
Is it radioactive? Is that why it works?
no, cos that rock is trillions years old
Tilly2 I thought the same thing. Do the stones glow in the dark. Seascale is a hotspot, no? Otherwise dotty I would think your invention is great, my scart lead falls out too I'll have to try that, bit stone-age but hey if it works.

Seascale has one of the cleanest and safest beaches in the Uk, it has to be.
We'll send the Cumbrian Constabulary around to your place, Dotty, to enquire about the theft of beach material from Seascale.

...because all the germs have been destroyed by gamma particles ;-)
I thought that was Windscale?
Seascale is the village south of Windscale/Sellafield.

Hello Dotty, now I can visualise you,
Off topic I went to WHSmiths today as I had 2 copies of Hairy Dieters Cookbook as presents. Wouldn't exchange one as I didn't have a receipt, what would you advise?
Question Author
They should have exchanged it for you for the price it says on the till purely out of goodwill. It's got £2 off RRP at the moment i think, ring 0845 604 6543 and then follow the options to speak to someone about it. they will contact the store for you probably about going back in, we exchange without a reciept alot this time of year it's how it is after christmas. No point refusing and upsetting people, unless it's an opened DVD and they're trying to refund that, definate no no !
afaik the local authorities changed the name from Windscale to Seascale due to fears about possible associations with radiation. A bit like the way the authorities on the island of "Lesbos" quietly re-named it "Lesvos".
Thanks Dotty, wet to two dicferent tills today.will try phone number.
Question Author
who's afaik? Seascale is a beautiful place and unless you have been there you have no idea how well looked after it is.
