My son wants some suitable plants for his [2 walls space in between]
Any advice please would be welcome

Fan-trained apricot, apple or plum. But not if north-facing
Passionflower - beautiful!
Is it a low, raised bed between to rows of bricks ?
If so plants like aubrietia and sedums usually do good, in a sunny spot.
Check out alpine plants or even ferns if it's shady.
If it IS north facing, try hydrangea petiolaris.
Honeysuckle will grow almost anywhere.
