Olive Bushes
1 Answers
I've just received a present of two healthy-looking olive bushes, but the maintenance advice is sketchy to say the least--a label with little pictures. It can survive temperatures of -10, but where should I put them in our large, but windy garden in NE Fife? Grateful for any advice

Keep them in shelter from the wind and the worst of the cold in winter, and push them into the sun in summer. I imagine you sometimes get temperatures below minus ten in winter in Fife, so be careful. Use fleece-wrapping if necessary. I have just lost an olive tree ( South of England) thanks to several very bitter winters. Fortunately, olives grow quite slowly in the UK, so you should be able to move them about for a few years yet.
