My neighbour, with whom my relationship has always been uneasy, is cultivating a Horse Chestnut tree which I believe has the potential to grow to a height of about 100 feet. It is currently about 10-12 feet high.
His garden is very long and this tree is a considerable distance from his house but it is only about 30 feet from mine.
Should I be concerned?
Thank you for your responses. Boxtops query about light doesn't yet apply but as the tree gets taller sunlight to my garden will be impaired. I take your point Diddydo, I must admit that I'm not in the first flush of youth but I do hope to see the majority of the next thirty years so hence my concern. My major concern is the possibility of root damage to my foundations but I do not know the root system of the chestnut tree, are they deep or close to the surface?
