Don't know if it's a wild flower or garden flower but it's growing in a local field and I don't recognise it. Media URL: http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y381/cw471/IMG_0027_zps02027438.jpg

(Sorry, I've no idea what it is)
This is precisely what some enterprising web site should do for you. You upload a photo, it matches it with millions in its database and gives you the top 5 most likely plant with % score. (And whether you should look after it or grub it up.)
Could it be a type of stock?
OG; I don't think computers are clever enough to do that. Though we can have no problem distinguishing instantly whether it is a cat or a dog at several hundred yards, a computer cannot do so with any degree of certainty because they both similarly have fur, 4 legs, tail, ears, similar colours etc. Imagine it's problem dealing with flowers.
PS I still don't understand about the pork scratchings.
But fun sites I've seen match you to celeb look-alikes.

Pork scratchings are made from pigs ?
Here's a search by image using google reverse image search:

So you could look at these for similarities. It isn't perfect.

You can try it here: http://images.google.com/imghp?hl=en just click the little camera in the corner and paste the image url - in this case:

Could be Phlox?
I'd already tried Google images, Ed. Unfortunately, it results in the problem Khandro mentions.
I love Google search by image. Not perfect - but getting there.
it looks like soapwort

PS, yes one of the soapworts
Aka 'Bouncing Bett'. I like that
OG; Penny dropped! A computer can recognise a face by the proportions within it full face and in profile. We are able to recognise people from oblique angles which is too much for a computer. woofgang could recognise that one individual, unique flower, from assorted angles by knowing the species from memory.
Question Author
Further to my enquiry then, perhaps Woofgang could answer this, what would be the best way to propagate this flower?
Looks very similar to phlox
