I have three wooden sliding dooors each is 75 inches by 47 inches I dont know what type of wood it is, I havn't deceided if it is better to paint them but I think it will soak in and would I need a undercoat first and how many coats will I need or cover them with material, how do I stick the material on, I dont want to use glue as the room does get damp. Can any body help? thanks

If you want to paint them then a layer of undercoat and two coats of top coat will probably be sufficient.

I'm not sure I understand why you are considering covering the doors in fabric when you have a damp problem. I'd be more inclined to resolve the damp issue before decorating. How do you propose finishing around the edges of the doors so that the runners are not affected?
