I used to use a teaspoon to put salt on dandelions etc. It worked well but gave me backache
The Roman general Scipio ploughed and sowed the fields of Carthage with salt. It was effective.
Yes if you use enough. It will also, as the Romans knew, poison the earth so that nothing will grow till the salt degrades or washes away. Be careful using it around pets. Too much salt can make them ill
