Mm Links January 2014 Week 2

This is 'The Lady Radley' here. Good morning one and all. Week two here we come.
It’s a glorious sunny morning as I type this. From my conservatory I can see the North Sea with the occasional ferry passing. Slightly to the right is Penshaw Monument, officially 'The Earl of Durham’s Monument'. It is a folly built in 1844 on Penshaw Hill.
Another local attraction is Beamish Museum. Beamish is a world famous museum telling the story of the people of the North East England during the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian periods.
Enough of local attractions. Did you know we have two new moons in January this year? The first and thirtieth of January.
The birds are always interesting to watch as blackbirds hunt for worms on the lawn and robins and Blue tits forage amongst the rose hedge and ivy. I have just signed up for the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch.
With the earlier mild weather the bulbs are a little confused as several are already peeping through the soil. As yet my large clump of snowdrops haven’t flowered.
I can’t help but think we will have snow soon. Chicago is known as the windy city but it’s often windy where I live virtually on the top of a hill. When talking about flooding I get asked if my house has ever flooded. I laugh and say if it did most of County Durham would be under water.
Going off on a tangent, central heating is very nice but I wouldn’t be without my wood burning stove. It’s lovely to hear the crackle and watch the flames.
I must end my preamble as the ironing beckons and unfortunately an automatic washer I have, but an automatic iron has yet to be invented.

No best answer has yet been selected by Handbaglady. Once a best answer has been selected, it will be shown here.
For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.According to normal practice, for the everyday running of MM, I shall follow this rule on word length, in that each of my pre-selected link words contains at least four letters and at most eight letters. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one of your attempts!
Each of the selected link words may go in front of, or behind my challenge word to make a new longer word or to make a well-known phrase or saying. The combination will never be a person's name.
The competition will officially close on Sunday Evening at 7.00pm, when gen2 will declare my pre-selected words and then apply the same rules for awarding points that have been applied during all MM Link Games in the past. My set of four words to have their links predicted should appear below at 9.00am.
