Masonry paint.
You can get plenty of tester pots too instead of buying large tins of the stuff, should be ideal for your purposes.
Why paint them?
Natural stone is prettier than paint, imo.

I'd suggest you contact a landscaper and pick their brains for a decent type of paint?

They are already painted, so need repainting. Them testers seem ideal ChillDoubt. Many thanks for all your answers.
aah, I see, Sorry, Completely mis-construed your post.

I believe tester pots cost about £1.50.

Hope all will become as nice as you want it to be x
Far be it from me to suggest you must have used emulsion for it to have washed off, rebelboy. If you did indeed buy masonry paint from B&Q, and it wasn't one of those 'cheap as chips' tubs of paint, then it must have been from a rogue batch and you should have been back in there demanding your money back.

If you have the time and the patience, one way of protecting your exterior paintwork after repainting it is to coat it with clear varnish. If you do attempt this, leave it for about a week after the fresh masonry paint is applied.

No worries albaqwerty. Thanks for the tip Ken4155. Cannot remember what paint it was now. But recommended by assistant in Homebase. Very tiny pots they were, but totally unsuitable. But not expensive.
Unless it's someone like Farrow & Ball, tester pots tend to be for interior paint.

Dulux "Weathershield" masonry paint is what you need, rebel.
There are other good brands as well. Weathershield is just one.

A Builder's Merchants will mix from the Dulux colour range for you. I may be wrong, but I think the smallest quantity would be 2.5 litres though.

If you have found the right colour in a tester pot, even if it is for interior use, then simply give the finished article a couple of coats of exterior polyurethane varnish .......... matt, satin, or gloss. That'll help it to last outdoors for a few years.

Not so good then. We will need a great variety of colours. Our neighbour ,who sadly passed away recently, said she used boat paint. Hers were immaculately painted.
I would initially give them a wire brush to remove anything loose then wash down and scrub with some soda crystal solution, then paint.

Thanks, Tony.
