We have just moved house and are trying to plumb in our washing machine. The cold inlet is fine, but the drain hose is causing us some grief! We have a 29mm drain hose (which I have been told is a universal size), but we cannot get it to attach to the spigot. We have cut the end of the spigot off to make it smaller, but it does not fit well. We have attached a jubilee clip to the outside of the hose, but the hose is simply too large to make a snug fit.
Please could anybody help? Many thanks

29mm doesn't sound like a universal size, Pringle. I think they're usually 21mm. I would simply go for a new hose. They're cheap enough.
