What A Day!

Work finally started on the conservatory. I think I mentioned ages ago that it is moving away from the house. It has dropped 2.5 inches and lots of the windows and the patio door have twisted and can't be opened. This has been going on for years. Started with a slight crack in joining wall. We filled it with poly villa. It opened again and again. I used so much draught excluder stuff I must have bought up the entire stock in town.
What makes it worse is that thee are no dividing doors between conservatory and lounge, it is an extension to lounge. The problem is based on poor workmanship with not good foundations. We inherited this problem when we bought the house but didn't know at the time. Insurance will not cover it.
So today Son in law started. Builder can't come now until next week. He removed all windows and patio doors.Took up flooring and skirtings.
Then he had to fill in the archway that led from lounge to keep us weatherproof and secure. He reused the patio doors and a sheet of chipboard to fill the gap. So we are secure but cluttered. All the furniture from conservatory is piled in lounge, we used it as a dining area so we have very little space to move. And the dust OMG. Luckily we are going on holiday to France on Friday so will escape for a while. Don't think it will be finished when we come hope but can hope. Then we have to redecorate. So a good day was had by all!
