I forgot to cut mine back last year, and it's doing really well without the pruning.

'Late Winter or early Spring...' That's a job I can leave for a while, then.

I find that the thing is impossible to kill, so chop it back when you want.

I'll wait til early Spring. No need to rush these things.
I like to prune mine in March, during a frost free period but I've heard that if you wait to April then it will flower later in the year.
