That's 1kWh, which typically costs around 12p.

That's only if it's actually heating istelf all the time Chris - most Oil Filled Rads have a thermostat which means they fairly quickly reach 'operating temperature' and then the element inside clicks on/off as needed.

So my answer would be "it depends on how cold the room is" - with a maximum of your 12p, but probably well under that for an extended period.
