How big is it?
Can't really tell the size but looks like a bone handled bread-knife
Yes, it's called Dave.

(sorry)
LOL B00- better than 'no officer, never seen it before in my life'

Hi its about 20 cm long , one side has a hallmark and the other side has a fancy decorative scrolling pattern.
OI !!

Looks like an old bread knife to me.
I've got one just like it in my kitchen drawer and I've always used it to slice bread. Think it was my mum's once upon a time.
It's very like my mother's old family breadknife. It it's the same as theirs, don't put it in the dishwasher or in the washing up - the handle's bone or ivory (not that you would with silver, anyway), but the handle dries out and cracks if it keeps being submerged in water.
I'm thinking that it could be a 'fish scaler'
It doesn't look like a bread knife to me, it appears to be aggressively serrated on the top edge and a straight cutting edge, so maybe for de-scaling fish as chipchopper suggested
Boo.. It could be a fish wife:-)
I would say that it is, as others have said, a bread knife The teeth are set to cut; it come to a point so as to pierce the bread; and the other plain side is probably to spread the butter. The teeth of a fish-scaler are not set to "saw".
