9 Answers
I really want to replace my old skirting boards, I have been putting it off as I am scared I will mess up the walls when I take them off.
Any ideas or tips or shall I get a man in!?

Generally the plaster does not go down to the floor level, there is a 2 inch gap where the plaster ends and the floor starts.
Often the skirting board is nailed to the wall, with the nails going into the gaps between the bricks.
But I have always had problems doing it so you may want to get a person in.
