If not, he can register it and then give it to you. make sure you use the .gov website and not one of the others that looks like its the official one and will charge you to do what you can do yourself.
Do please take Woof's advice and make sure you have and keep proof that you now own this land.

you shouldn't need a solicitor. Here is what you need. If you have any questions, contact the land registry and ask, they are very helpful.
