Can anyone confirm if a front door with a GPR skin inside and out and a polyurethane high density core is very secure? Or is a solid wood door with a metal core better?

A door is only as strong as its hinges / locking mechanism.
Spot on from Zacs .. you can have all the locking points you want along with bolts, hooks and mushrooms in the locking mechanism. But the door is only as good as the point that releases all these features .. the lock cylinder !
The cylinder is the weak point in any door and most can be opened with fairly basic hand tools.
If you are asking which one is best against a battering ram .. that would be the one with the most locking points. But most burglars prefer to enter with as little fuss as possible.
If I need to force an entry to a property .. the front door is usually the quickest way in.
If you do go down the GPR route make sure the door is a one piece moulded unit and does not have a lower removable panel. Whatever a salesman tells you .. they can be forced.
