Cutting Laminate Worktops
7 Answers
I am fitting my kitchen at the moment and have been practicing using a router by cutting up the old worktops. I am cutting the worktop face down and the roll edging first and plunging about 8mm at a time. The router speed is set at approx 28,000 rpms. As I am practicing on the old ones the only thing that I am not happy with is a little bit of laminate is chipping off at the front of the worktop but only in one side. would using a bit of masking tape help when cutting to avoid this???? I also thought that the old worktops due to their age are also probably quite brittle. Any help would be appreciated.
