Cat's pee
3 Answers
All the male cats in the neighbourhood seem to mark their terratory as my open front porch. If i leave anything out there, it stinks the next morning of cats pee. We have a neutered female cat of our own but i need to stop the cats doing this before i resort to house bricks !!!! Is there anything i can spray or put down to stop the cats doing it ??? Your help will be very much appreciated |

Whatever you do, don't try to clean the affected area with ammonia based products. The presence of ammonia is seen by a cat as an indication that a rival cat has been marking this area - this tells the cat that urgent re-marking is required!.

I remember reading somewhere that lion dung keeps cats away in droves, but I've never smelled it so it may smell worse than the cat pee you're trying to get rid of. We had a similar problem with our cellar - little horrors were getting in through our coal hole until we blocked it off. The smell was something else!
