Hi anyone out there any remedies for removing scratches from household window glass, have tried rubbing with toothpaste but not made any progress.

You might have more luck with something like Dura Glit (if they still make it) or a similar product. You need something with a bit more abrasive quality than toothpaste.

I used to take scratches out of perspex baths with Dura Glit or Brasso
you need cerium oxide commonly known as jewellers rouge. There are companies such as Glass Doctors in London that offer this service as a commercial venture but the glass needs to be over �100 in value to be commercially viable. The trick is in applying the paste with a mechanical buffer. Normally if you can feel it with your nail it is too deep to do yourself and it will need to be ground out first.
