We did this about 6 years go because I suffer with arthritis and had trouble getting in and out of the bath. We have never looked back! Apart from it being easier getting it and out of (I do use a shower stool whilst in there) I find it more hygienic and quicker.
.....and cheaper, if you're on a water meter.
A very good idea.
Ignore the doom-mongers who say it'll make your house awkward to sell on; it won't.
We done it, no problems, never looked back.
Get the biggest shower cubicle you can. Try them out in the shop and make sure that you have enough room to raise your arms to wash your hair.
I have both but never use the bath to be honest, always the shower, much quicker and more convenient.
Did this just before I had two hip replacements. Best thing I ever did.
I did it! Best thing we ever did. Looks very smart and is easy to keep clean, too.
We bought a shower tray the same size as a standard bath, tiled from tray to ceiling on three sides and put a put length enclosure with sliding doors in the middle.
We did this seven years ago because I was diagnosed with epilepsy and a bath was considered a risk. Since then, I have never regretted the decision to get rid of the bath. With the bath out, we were able to put in a large shower, which contains a waterproof chair and footstool. I love to sit and wash my hair with the warm water cascading down, and I never miss the bath at all. Go for it, we have never regretted the change.
I never ever bath. Have got both bath and shower and the bath just gathers dust.
I'd love a wet room, I have a walk in shower, sliding doors are a pain to clean.
If I had the choice again, I'd still have a shower, but choose an open door kind instead of sliding doors.
Looks like bath out wins, Brown......I have both and I love, just now and again, to soak in the bubble bath with wine and a good book.....x
I won't ask how you keep your book dry, gness, suppose you have a butler ;-)
We did it years ago and have never regretted it. Only time it is a minor problem is when the grandkids are babies. We put a baby bath in the shower unit when they are tiny and when they become toddlers someone goes in the shower with them.
Do it! Baths are a waste of space, time and water - on the very rare occasions when I think I fancy a bath, by the time it has filled I've gone off the whole idea.
Fortunately got both of both worlds got wet room downstairs and bath upstairs
