I have had a lovely display of wallflower grown in pots, they are now beginning to die back, can I leave them in the pots in the hope they will grow again next year?

Yes you can....they are grown as biennials not annuals. However, wallflowers are really short lived perennials and will happily survive a harsh winter. The only problem is, they will sit there in your tubs for 11 months of the year with nothing going on. Personally, i'd throw away and buy some in the autumn ready for next april/may

Yes...we did that, but the plants are not as prolific as they once were!
No, best to replace them every year.
I think they are best treated as annuals and removed at the end of the growing season, otherwise they can by affected by the build up of diseases like club root.

Wall flowers are supposed to be biennials but are in effect, perienels.

So I would put the pots somewhere out of the way, but remember to water them. Better still ....re-plant them in a patch of soil somewhere.
