Woke up this morning to find glass in the window sill and a hole about 3" across in my window. :(

Is this my landlord's responsibility or my content's insurance? Thanks.

ask landlord first ! will insurance pay out after an act of vandalism ??
it's building rather than contents I think anyway
You need to check your lease but I would expect it to be your responsibility. I don't see why Contents Insurance should cover it. In the days when I rented I had Buildings Insurance on the grounds that if the house burnt down due to my negligence the cost of repairs would fall on me.

The thing is, my landlord is next to useless in doing something about anything that we complain about. It took him two years to do something about the gutters and consequent dampness that the lady above me was suffering until I moved in and had the time to keep on his case.

Thanks.
i do wonder sometimes whats the point of insurance they always seem to wriggle out of paying out when you need it!
in which case just do it ..but contents insurance not appropriate...

Yes, I'll ring 101 before. The police station is just up the road. Maybe they brought some drunks in during the night.
For any insurance claim you need to have reported it to the police and got a crime number.( Assuming it is vandalism and not an accident!)
