Keeps flicking off. Stupid power saving bulbs dont fit the standard sockets and wriggle about. How can I fix it

There are powersaving bulbs to fit all but a very few sockets these days
....is your table lamp an antique?

Could you change the bulb holder for a modern one, tambo.

The bulb seems too short for the socket. Ive tried sticky things.

there are specialist bulb shops out there, and I am not talking garden centres.......

Sry, lost the phone. I have overhead lights but theyre too bright. Will look for some old type bulbs :(
I used to have an office next to an Electrician and he used to go mad at the word 'bulb'.
'Bulbs get planted in the ground and become plants and flowers! Lamps are the things that light up.' was his stock comment.

I wondered what DT was on about...ok the glass light ?
Now there's an idea, change it for gaslight.

Sounds to me as if you must have the wrong bulb, or a defective one. Worst comes to worst, you could replace the light socket for one with a better range of lengths that it'll spring up to connect to.
