My bathroom and cloakroom radiators are both showing signs of rust along the bottom edge caused through from water drips as the towels are just above them. I have had 2 different pieces of advice as to what paint to use. Metal radiator paint or gloss paint. More points of view please.

radiator paint..always !!
I would thoroughly sand down rusty areas, primarily to get a smooth surface, then spray the entire radiator with Hammerite. To go a bit further I would consider applying Galvafroid to all naked metal before spraying if I thought dampness will be a continuing risk.
Gloss paint tends to yellow very quickly. Have been pleased with Wilko (from Wilkinsons) Radiator Enamel. Easy to apply. Follow the instructions and prepare well.
I've done a few radiators in our house over the past few years and each time, I used an aerosol can of radiator paint - more than happy with end result every time.
I can't remember the brand, but I'm sure there'll be plenty of decent ones out there.
Preparation is the key and put plenty of newspaper behind the radiator, so when you're spraying the edge, it goes on the newspaper and not all over your wallpaper .... unless you're redecorating, in which case it won't really matter.
Just a quick light spray, then give it a little time to dry, then reapply - don't over-spray.
I can't remember exactly how many (maybe 4 or 5??), but I know I gave my radiators quite a few thin coats - much better than 1 or 2 thick coats.
Forgot to add - put masking tape around the radiator pipes as well .... unless you want them painting as well ;)
Have painted ours in the last two years. Removed them from the wall - washed the sludge out of them - benched it - rubbed them down with steel wool - primed with rust preventer where needed and Spray painted them with radiator enamel - wouldn't go near Hammerite - fliipin awful stuff it was. Magi cote was the one I used.
Used at least a can per radiator and applied several coats.
