Calls To Bt Technical Department
26 Answers
I have a problem with my landline phone which a BT make, calls to their technical department cost 65p per minute ! which is ridiculous when it is about one of their own products. I have tried an 'on line chat' but their only advice was to call the technical team.
Does anyone know another way of getting in touch with them ?

Particularly the microfilter(you do need one) which should be an ADSL microfilter. In the past I have had problems with tarnished contacts and changing the filter sorted it. You could unplug, and inspect, then try plugging back in again to see if you get a better connection. You will be able to see if the contacts are tarnished, they will be black instead of a gold colour.
My other 'emergency' old fashioned phone has no crackle - although obviously doesn't support the texting facility anyway, from all the evidence i assume the problem is with the phone itself which is just 2 months out of the 1 year warranty - my last BT phone only lasted 10 months and this is a replacement.
