Tea Stain On Carpet
10 Answers
I knocked a full cup of tea onto a nearly new deep pile silvery green carpet. Over this week I have done it with Vanish foam 3 times which barely touched it and then sponged it with Ariel solution but every time it dries it's there worse than ever. Really brown. I'm at my wits end. Luckily OH hasn't seen it as on my side of the bed but how on earth can I remove the brown marks??

mix a bit of white vinegar with a bit of water, and apply it directly onto stain using a sponge or dishcloth. Allow this to sit on the tea stain for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse the affected area with cold water. The tea stain should no longer be visible.

Buy Dr Beckham carpet cleaner £1.80 in Waitrose/Dyas/Morrisons. Totally effective. Get some in. Have used to remove blood, wine, paint, etc.. Miracle product. White Vinegar is £1 a bottle but won't lift the stain. Other wacky things what clean stains on carpets are: spray on furniture polish and WD440.
