Can anyone recommend a "lightweight" pole hedge trimmer. It is only to deal with the overhang from my neighbours hedge, but I can no longer balance on ladders with the shears. I need to reach about 9 foot height. I would prefer electric or cordless rather than petrol. Thanks for any help.

I would go for a corded one, which has full flexibility and can also accommodate different tool heads such as a chainsaw for thicker branches and maybe a strimmer head as well.

I meant to add, if it has a harness, it will take a lot of weight off your arms.

If you are on good terms with your neighbour you might feel able to ask them if they will lend you theirs. You never know they might pop round and cut it for you.
