Wasps Nest.
31 Answers
I have wasps building a nest under some decking in the most inaccessible place in my garden. I only know there must be a nest because of the activity.
Before I call the pest folk out I'm going to try a spray but would like to know if anyone has been successful with any of the sprays on the market....or any other ideas please. I have hung an artificial nest with no joy.

Do this early whilst the wasps are out on buzzzzziness - but make sure you protect yourself as much as possible and keep windows/doors closed. Keep pets well away too. You may need to repeat the treatment but with any luck the wasps should be gone in a day or two.
Just found the can under the sink.
It's this one, in the link. Don't know where he bought it, though.

I've use Raid Wasp Nest Destroyer in the past to great success.
A couple of things to remember when using, most are a jet of death that foams on contact rather than the normal aerosol fly killer so a couple of squirts to check your aim is advisable.
Most important though in my opinion, make sure you have a clear escape route because those that survive the initial burst are out for revenge. From memory they return to the scene and get poisoned eventually but are very active up to that point.

had a huge nest under the shed one year. there was a large stand of raspberry canes next to the shed and the wasps had to hover over the canes before disappearing behind them, this is what got the wasps noticed. they never bothered us though, nor did they ever come in the house, so I left them to it. the neighbour did question us, "have you noticed there's an awful lot of wasps this year" - to which the answer was an innocent "nooo! really??"
Thank you for all your answers....really helpful. Rocky's recommendation says calling a professional is best if you can't get near the nest....I can't....it isn't even possible for me to spray through the decking.
There is less than a foot of ivy covered ground between the decking and the fence so I can't spray from a distance.
I will look at your suggestions, thank you...and then spray the gap with the foam....throw a large wet towel over the lot and run.....
If that fails then it's time for a professional..... x
Mushroom....I never kill wasps and have been trying to let them alone but today I can't go out into the garden....they are all around the doors and windows and on the patio...and they are little angry wasps...x

Ark.....I had to stop using shaving foam....brought my chin out in a rash....
I have discovered why they are in their dozens around the back door...I left a dish of fruit in water to take down the garden for the hogs and forgot last night....stupid thing to leave at the door....wasps all over....so...
I sprayed Cif....well that's all I had.....onto it and now I have a dish full of dead wasps......that just leaves the nest but like you say...a pro is needed......but I know now that wasps dislike Cif.... :-)
