I have wasps building a nest under some decking in the most inaccessible place in my garden. I only know there must be a nest because of the activity.

Before I call the pest folk out I'm going to try a spray but would like to know if anyone has been successful with any of the sprays on the market....or any other ideas please. I have hung an artificial nest with no joy.

That can have it's down sides too, Tilly.... ;-)
Yes, but he will be the one to get stung, not you.
Question Author
True...... :-)
They do tend to like sweet things don't they. Almost close enough to pet one hanging around my beer glass.
I resisted the temptation to flick him to oblivion just in case his mates turned up a bit upset by a GNess.

Sadly I have upset the mates....never thought I'd be killing wasps but this is way too much.....they could have a bit of my garden with my blessing....but all of it!!!!..... :-)
That'd be too greedy taking all of it... the sheer cheek.

Thank you for all the advice on this......I now have very few wasps and can sit in my secret corner in peace..

I decided against a spray because of the hedgehogs and frogs......one hog may be living under the decking...

The artificial nest didn't work for me. I made half a dozen traps with various drinks inside.....they loved the Kir and it's fun to watch squiffy wasps staggering in circles.....
I slipped three small pieces of wood down between the fence and decking where I thought they were entering the nest and kept those well sprayed with WD40 and Cif......they really hate both.....
I gathered hundreds in the bottle traps....and sad though I am that I had to kill them they were vicious and unprepared to share my garden.....

Thank you again....x
