Hi!

I would like to buy a tumble dryer but due to space restrictions it will need to go in the garage! Please could someone tell me if it is better to buy a condenser or vented dryer, there will be no access to outside.

many Thanks

then you should buy a condensing one, garages get wet too!!

well, my mum had a vented one and then swapped it for a condensing one but she found it wasnt half as good as the vented one so she went back to the vented one.

thats just one persons experience but it has always put me off a condensing one. if you want a vented one you can buy a box that the hose goes into to collect all the steam so you dont need to put it outside. You can find them in the lil magazines you get with papers.

Hope that helps you

looked into the condensing box thing, you have to make a huge icecube to make it work. Gill is there no way you could have a vented dryer?
me again, just read about it in the lil magazine (my friends getting one) and it says you just have to add a lil water to the box and then put the pipe in
A condenser dryer is for rooms where there is no outside wall, but if you have a outside wall then go for the vented type.

I have my tumble dryer in the garage too.

My husband drilled a series of holes into the wall and then fixed the pipe from the tumble dryer over the holes. (We did buy the proper mounting for them, and a grate for the outside wall to stop any wee beasties getting into garage)

Has worked perfectly...no steam in garage at all
