Don't know the cost but friend had one and hated it. Have to sit in and wait for water to fill then wait for water to empty before getting out. That is unless new ones are different. Hers was a few years ago and it didn't stay in for long.
Are you sure this is what you want? Do you realise you have to sit in it whilst it fills up and then again when it empties? A large shower cubicle with a bench seem to be preferred by quite a lot of people.
I looked into the pros and cons five years ago and decided on an Aqualift seat which lowers you into the bath, then you press a button when you're finished and you're lifted up out of the water. Best thing I've ever bought. The only think that might be difficult is 'getting your leg over' (!!!) when you're getting into the bath. Cost was over £1200 then, don't know what it is now, but I do love a bath as opposed to a shower. (aged 79).
I go along with the are you sure thing. yes IMO a better option would be a big shower with a bench seat. bath lifts of various kinds are fine but a bit of a devil to keep clean and dry and can get smelly if you don't.
hellywelly, its a while since I saw an aqualift....do you still have to leave the band out to dry after use and do you still have to be able to move sideways as the band moves to stay in the middle of the seat?
Woofgang - not really sure if we’re talking about the same thing - I was never told to leave the band out to dry, I just leave the whole thing set up all the time. The seat which fits on the band is as wide as the band and it would be rather a hassle to dismantle the whole thing.
yes we are talking about the same thing....I guess its different if you are the only person using the bath or everybody uses the aqualift. If its in a family bathroom then the band would need to be retracted completely into the machine for anyone else to use the bath. Does the seat slide on the band? the one I saw and tried had a fixed seat and as the band is fixed at one side, as the band goes up and down, the person had to shuffle sideways to stay in the "loop"of the band
Woofgang the seat on mine is held on by Velcro straps so easy to move or remove. I live alone so it’s not a problem. The cost of fitting was included when I bought mine.
