Sadly yes Ummmm.
So be selfish?
But what if them doing something they want makes you unhappy?
This from the Bumper Book Of Hippie Philosophy?

Question Author
ZM, thousands of people do things that make me unhappy eg the latest protests. I can't dwell on it though or I would be totally miserable. I prefer to do things that make me happy.
On a simple level it works, life is rarely that simple sadly but a good place to start from.
...and so if a parent sees a child/teenager doing something wrong they should say, 'that's ok as long as it makes you happy.'
Or your partner wants a bit on the side to make them happy :-)
I was right then.
Brain dead.
Feel better soon.
And if what makes them happy is spousal abuse, paedophilia, making money by pushing drugs, throwing things at police horses, vandalism, spreading computer viruses?
I just read some of the other quotes.....idiot.
An idiot he may be, I have never come across him until today but he's a survivor.

// I was born a crack baby, raised in a single-parent household, frequently watched my family members imbibe illegal substances, gun shots in the neighbor were commonplace. I dropped out of high school my sophomore year—I had to in order to survive; my mother abandoned me when I was fifteen. A couple of years later, I received a General Education Diploma (GED). At eighteen, I joined the Navy.//

I am not sure how that quote ties in with evangelism.
Maybe if we knew the context around what drove him to write it.

Very often quotes are offered up that don't stand alone well.
