Copper Nails To Kill Unwanted Woody Stumps

Hi Green fingerered Abers ..... we've just hammered a few copper nails into some woody stumps that we want gone from our front garden - do any of you have an idea of how long it takes before we will see signs of those pesky wooden stumps dying off, please? Many thanks, cheers, Chox.

Thanks for this .... thought it was going to be a few months .... but will obviously have to be more patient than that. Cheers ....
I think the copper nail thing is a common urban myth.
Best method is to drill holes around the edge of the cut stump, put (amonium sulphate) Amiside in the holes, cover with plastic sheeting and wait approx 12 weeks, job done!
