I can't be doing with sandwich makers so please don't suggest I buy one. I love a cheese toastie that has lots and lots of cheese but sometimes it has not melted enough.
Could this be solved by a quick blast in the microwave and if so, before or after putting in the frying pan?
Since when did you use a frying pan for toasting? Grill the toast, sprinkle liberally with cheese and blast in the micro. Don't forget the Lea&Perrins.
My old Nana always made them in the frying pan, she had neither a microwave or a toastie.
I’m pretty sure a lower heat, for longer, would be the answer, and squash it down with a spatula.
Since he’s been at uni, me and boy #1 have been trying to perfect the grilled cheese sandwich. He favours three different cheeses and a long, low fry but if I do it I chuck it I’m the oven to ensure melted perfection.
When I toast bread, I put it in the toaster or under the grill. If I fry bread, I put it in a frying pan with oil. There is a difference between fried bread and toast.
