This seems to be the way forward, less fuss, no trailing leads or fuel to worry about for starters.
So the question is:- what's the best way to get rid of redundant equipment to make way for the new gear ?.

I'll send a van, I'm quite happy being well behind the times. :-)
1) give it away.
2) throw it away.
3) sell it on eBay / schpock
eBay, Gumtree, Facebook local market.
I've never known my tools with trailing leads go flat part-way through a job or, more likely, be flat when I want to use them.
Freecycle.
2 batteries solves that, bhg.
I find some of the battery tools to be not as powerful as the electric ones such as hammer drills. Many are much more expensive.
Zacs - not the "flat before you start" bit since I don't do much DIY nowadays. To be fair, batteries hold their charge for much longer than they used to do, giving you a better chance of finding them usable after a period of non-use.
Indeed.
I remember my first cordless drill, charge it for 8 hours then I got around 10 minutes of use before it went flat. Glad batteries have got a lot better these days.
Is there a cooperative near you that has tools, gardening implements etc to loan out or a community project?
