Erm.. does it really matter if a cat wees on your veg. You’re going to wash it before eating anyway.
pooping everywhere isn't nice, but we have given our advice now its up to the poster to take it up. JJ cats can't be controlled as everyone has said.
Get some lion poo. I'm not joking.
then perhaps JJ ...folk should bang up their children that annoy neighbours too ? or to stop them from facing "inherent dangers" every day
lion poo is awesome stuff Hoppy !!
I love cats but I'm not keen on dogs. Does that mean I should be barred from getting cats and get a dog instead, jj?

As Emmie has suggested get some strong scented plants. Cats don't like anything citrusy so maybe citronella candles might help.

Minty - your point is not relevant. Do you let children wander into neighbours gardens without permission. Do you let them walk by themselves to school at a young age, or do you accompany them or drive them? You are being responsible for your children, but not your pet!
You can't control where outdoor cats go. Some roam far and wide.
I grow my own veg too so fully understand how disgusting and frustrating it is to inadvertently put my hand in a pile of cat poo or find my seedlings dug up.
I have also owned cats so know it is impossible to stop them wandering. I could no more keep a cat that wanted to go outside as a housecat than I could keep a golden eagle in a cockatiel cage.

All the suggestions about planting things that deter cats is good and can really help. Netting is a great idea where possible as it also keeps other wildlife off your plants.

I don't think there is anything else you can do. Threatening the cat owner is pointless and could cause long term problems for you - who wants neighbours they've fallen out with?
perhaps wee Tiggs could oblige with a poo or two ..?? lol well tiger/lion is it so different..lol...
Tigger - no - you get a pet that is suitable for you, your location and where you can be responsible for it!
..and some kids are more feral than cats !
Cloverjo, cat wee like all wee can cause damage to growing plants if the cat keeps weeing in the same place.
sorry but JJ you are wrong, there is no way one can keep a pet indoors, not a cat certainly, unless it doesn't go out.
wow ta Hoppy !!!
I plant appropriately to fend off slugs snails etc..same can be done for cats..as aforementioned...
i've tried solar cat repellents ,bottles half filled with water ,metal cats with glowing eyes ,sprays etc, no good .water pistol works if you catch them in the garden but still they poo in my pots and dig the soil all over the place .
my brother has a very special cat, its very territorial, but does roam around a lot. he sees off any or all cats who come into their garden.
Lion poo is a good suggestion, if you have a local zoo. Cats are also not supposed to like oranges, ours certainly make themselves scarce when we eat one. Putting orange peel around your plot could work. Talk of controlling cats isn't helpful, they are a different ballgame from dogs, possibly why they've never been licenced.
